Important Safety Tips For Polishing
· Buffs should be securely twisted onto
the tapered spindle before turning the
motor on. Be sure to keep the buff cen-
tered and straight for true running. With
the tapered spindle correctly installed,
the turning force of the motor will keep
the buff safely and securely mounted
during grinding or polishing.
· Always grind or polish on the lower
quarter of the buff in order to control
the action and to prevent the work from
being pulled out of your grip. Never
intertwine your fingers with the work-
piece. Hold the workpiece in a manner
that will prevent your fingers from
being harmed should it be pulled from
your grip.
· Any grinding operation will remove
small amounts of metal from the work-
piece. To protect your eyes from flying
debris, you should always wear safety
goggles or similar eye protection.
· Be sure to tie back loose hair and cloth-
ing securely to prevent entanglement in
the polishing motor or spindle.
