Abrasives
For well over 50 years, mold and die craftsmen and metalworkers
the world over have looked to us for the best finishing stones.
Why? Because we guarantee superior quality. To make our stones,
we start with only the purest materials, then carefully grade, bond,
fire and cut them to our own exacting specifications. As a result,
they provide consistent finishes time and time again, without any
scratching or gouging.
Available in three formulations: aluminum oxide, an extremely
tough abrasive with grains that hold their sharpness very well;
levigated alumina, a very fine, softer form of aluminum oxide; and
silicon carbide, an extremely sharp, brittle abrasive with grains
designed to shatter and expose fresh edges. Choose from 13 types
for reaching any desired level of finish on hard and soft metals
(listed from hardest to softest).

Aluminum oxide
These aluminum oxide stones are bonded with a unique organic
resin bonding agent for great resiliency, making them ideal for
finishing slots, deep ribs and other hard-to-reach mold areas.
Also good for removing EDM scale. Retain their shape and have
flexing capability, making them resistant to breakage even during
heavy use. Leave a finer finish with less stock removal than other
stones of the same grit. Can be used by hand, in a profiler or in
an ultrasonic polisher on all mold and die steels.
EDM Blue

Premium aluminum oxide
Harder than regular EDM Stones, EDM Blue Stones are designed
specifically for use in a profiler or ultrasonic polisher to remove
the tough, hard scale left by the Electrical Discharge Machining
process. Make work that much faster when used in a profiler.
Contain extra-sharp, premium-grade aluminum oxide for fast cut-
ting action and a small amount of cobalt blue for added hardness.
Break down slowly, cut fast and resist loading.
EDM

Premium aluminum oxide
Remove the tough, hard scale left by the Electrical Discharge
Machining process much faster than any of our other finishing
stones. Contain an extra-sharp premium-grade aluminum oxide
for fast cutting action. Employ a special clay bond to hold their
shape well for working small details and sharp corners. Break
down slowly, cut fast and resist loading. Yield excellent results
by hand but work even better in a profiler or ultrasonic polisher.

White aluminum oxide
General-purpose stones made of only the very best ingredients:
extra-sharp, pure white aluminum oxide grains, a specially for-
mulated bond and a proprietary treatment. Cut well, hold their
shape and resist loading. Suitable for use on both EDM and
machined surfaces of all tool and hardened steels.
Premium White
9
Premium aluminum oxide
Premium-grade, pure white aluminum oxide stones specially for-
mulated to resist loading. Provide excellent results on all steels,
from the harder A2, D2 and M2 to the softer P20, 420SS and
SAE4130. Retain their shape well, making them a good choice for
finishing details. Can be used in a profiler or ultrasonic polisher.
Oil-Treated
9
White aluminum oxide
Hard, general-purpose aluminum oxide stones. Soaked with oil
during manufacture, they can be used dry without prelubrication.
Offer fine cutting ability. Hold shape for finishing mold details.
Excellent for machined surfaces. Can be used in a profiler or
ultrasonic polisher.

Aluminum oxide
By far our most popular finishing stones, these medium-hard alu-
minum oxide stones combine the characteristics of fast cutting
and moderate breakdown. Ideal for general-purpose stoning on
hard and soft grades of mold steel and for prefinishing aluminum,
beryllium copper and kirksite. Can be used in a profiler or ultra-
sonic polisher.
