For more than two decades, Gesswein has
brought the benefits of ultrasonic polishing
to mold and diemakers. ULTRAMAX units
polish slots, ribs and intricate details faster
than you could ever do by hand. Feature
fast reciprocation and short stroke for mak-
ing quick work of the most demanding
tasks. Provide total control for polishing
right up to a wall or edge with confidence.
Broad operating frequency range allows a
wider selection of tools to be used.
Automatic frequency adjustment ensures
maximum tool efficiency. Regulated power
feedback increases handpiece transducer
life and keeps handpiece and tools cool.
With their high output power, DF and SF
units are unaffected by metal hardness.
Handle even the toughest metals with
ease, including tungsten carbide and titani-
um. Polish everything from milled to rough
EDM surfaces to a mirror finish using all
grades of finishing stones, diamond tools,
ceramic stones and lapping tools with dia-
mond compound (see pp. 144145).
If you intend to work with diamond tools
or ceramic stones only, then consider the
affordable UM-1200. This slightly less
powerful unit polishes everything from
milled to rough EDM surfaces to a mirror
finish using progressively finer abrasives.

Safety Recommendations
For ULTRAMAX DF Mechanical Function.
Prolonged use of vibrating or reciprocating tools may result in vibration-induced circulation problems in the hands. Always follow safe
operating procedures. Using hand protection (i.e., insulated gloves) and taking frequent breaks can help minimize but not guarantee
against injury. Operating these types of tools in cold weather or with a tight grip will reduce the period of operation before risking
potential injury. Individuals with a tendency to suffer from poor circulation, frequently cold fingers or itchy hands should closely mon-
itor the condition of their hands. If symptoms appear, seek medical advice immediately.
